Bruce Braley has consistently voted to hurt Iowa families. Rather than listening to the millions of Iowa families who want ObamaCare permanently delayed and dismantled so that the rising cost of health care can finally be properly addressed, Bruce Braley continues to stand alongside President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi as they take significant steps toward dictating Iowans’ health care – which means increased premiums for hardworking families and is forcing employers to cut back on jobs and employee hours. Now, in a stunning turn of total hypocrisy, when Bruce Braley was faced with having to join his own ObamaCare health plan, Braley actually got a special exemption not available to other Iowans.
Bruce Braley isn’t too well known, and Liberal leaders in Washington want to keep it that way. Why? Braley is a slick former head of the trial lawyers association; a loyal lieutenant for Nancy Pelosi and a reliable member of Barack Obama’s team. He doesn’t understand Iowa farmers and doesn’t fight for them. Iowans may not realize that Bruce Braley has voted time after time to hurt Iowa farmers. The Iowa Farm Bureau has pointed to Braley’s support for ObamaCare, the estate tax, cap-and-trade, and obstruction of free trade as hurting Iowa’s agriculture community. Braley “proudly” voted for ObamaCare that includes a new Health Insurance Tax and the employer mandate, which hurts families and farmers. Braley might know what a farm looks like, but he doesn’t seem to understand that his votes are crushing Iowa farmers.
When President Obama needed a helping hand to force ObamaCare into law, Bruce Braley was there. Bruce Braley helped force ObamaCare onto the backs of Iowa seniors. Now, not only will many folks be forced to cope with exploding health care costs, but 21,000 Iowa seniors on Medicare Advantage were already forced to change their plans. Meanwhile, Bruce Braley voted against repealing the Medicare Cost Control Board. The fact is that ObamaCare hurts seniors by driving up costs and jeopardizing care.
Bruce Braley ignored experts and constituents who warned that ObamaCare would hurt the middle class by raising costs, not allowing people to keep the care that they have if they like it, and creating a bureaucratic nightmare that hurts small businesses. ObamaCare’s employer mandate is crushing Iowa’s small business owners who say ObamaCare will lead to “mountains of paperwork”. Some Iowa small businesses have already seen premiums jump by as much as 40%. But Braley turned his back on these businesses and embraced the “train wreck.”
